As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

AntiGUN person arrested for death threats, mental evaluation

Post by RPB »

I enjoy rational discussion, but there was 1 guy I was discussing things with yesterday ... an anti --- who sounded as discombobulated and went into wild raving ranting tirade making as much senses as Jared's web postings ... some of these anti-gun people are really violent, example:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/01/1 ... 09584.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
A man wounded in last weekend's shootings in Tucson was arrested today for threats he allegedly made towards a man who expressed support for gun ownership during a taping of an ABC News town hall.
Full story at http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/ ... z1B9HJHXxP" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
He was being held Saturday for alleged threats of intimidation and disorderly conduct and will undergo a mental-health evaluation.
More details, and an article here : http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=41230" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And "they" wonder why "we" want to be armed for defense.

Re: AntiGUN nut arrested for death threats, mental evaluatio

I think this guy deserves the benefit of not being called a nut for the time being.
Might be a case of PTSD, or who knows.
He watched 6 people die, more than a dozen others shot and he took two bullets himself.
I wish him well and hope that he gets the help he needs to heal both physically and emotionally.

Let's not jump to conclusions. Then we'd be like the lib media we all so enjoy. :mrgreen:

So the attack wasn't temporary insanity but actually showed his true nature?
I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.

I'm unclear how you made that jump from my quoted comments.. :confused5

There's a world of difference between actions driven by real mental health issues and actions driven by political goals or political extremism. The former deserves our sympathies, the latter our careful attention and action.

None of us can know what caused this individual to lash out. Clearly he needs help.

This doesn't particularly surprise me. With some of the rhetoric coming from the antigunners, accusing all gun owners of bieng mentally unbalanced and ready to go off at any moment, you know some of the opposition aren't quite right in the head.

If a dog makes unprovoked attacks, I don't want it near me or people I like. I don't care if it's a mad dog or if it's over aggressive by nature. Both are dangerous and I will use whatever force necessary.
