These questions of diagnosis and prescription are inevitably connected. In the interest of thinking about prescription, I want to focus this column on diagnosis.

This article surprises me … in a good way.
Thank you.
“diagnosis and prescription”
Finally, a rational thinker wanting to try to diagnose prior to prescribing.
I wish you were a legislator, I am a bit frustrated with those prescribing prior to diagnosing.

Example:
I personally thank God that Jared in Tucson used one of those foot-long magazines making it harder to reload and making it easier to grab, than Cho used at Virginia Tech and George Hennard used at Lubys when they used short “regular-sized” magazines … which no one could grab,… and reloaded several times….. think about that a minute.
Those “foot-long high capacity magazines” … probably saved lives.
And that’s what some legislators’ knee-jerk reaction is, their prescription is to make everyone use the ones which are impossible to grab that can be reloaded quicker, without even an attempt to diagnose anything as to an initial cause.

Once again, thank you.
