Looking for hunting lease

Post by pbwalker »

The one I had in Llano was not productive at all, and the one good guy on the lease is bailing, so I'm looking for a hunting lease! I have a camper, so electricity will be nice but not required. I'd love to be able to bring out a non-hunter or a minor hunter (nephew or daughter when she gets a little older) who can shoot off of my limit. Year round access is preferred and I can / will keep the land in good shape...e.g., fixing fences, brush removal, etc.

I'm looking in an area from about Junction up to Mason, Llano, and South. Basically, the Hill Country. I'd love to get around Harper / Doss / F'burg.

Looking to spend around $1500 but can go up to $2000 for the right deal. I'm not a trophy / bone collector kind of hunter. I'm going for venison, so I'm content with does. I'm happy to work on varmint eradication as well.

References are available and I have all my own gear, so nothing is needed. I'm not a drinker but am cool with others enjoying a few, safely.

Thanks!

Friend of my dad's is on a lease near Bulverde that I believe is looking for some fresh faces still. I hunted there my one and only time (so far) to hunt and took two little deer in one morning (small 8-point buck, and a doe - November 2009). I was going to sign up this year, but got too busy and couldn't go anyway.

This is likely a bit closer to San Antonio than you may ideally want, but cost is (I think) less than range you mentioned. Anyway, if you're interested, PM/email me and I'll help you and him exchange contact info.
