Man faces jail after protecting home from masked attackers

The man caught three BG's lobbing Molotov cocktails to his house in the middle of the night. Got one of his revolvers and shot at the intruders. Now he is being charged with careless use of a firearm. :mad5 :banghead:

most likely the charge would not stick. I am Canadian, and I heard of cases where the defender shot and kille more than one attacker and he was aquicted. It is not good to see those charges, however, there is some common sense when defending yourself.

This incident illustrates the real goal of the anti-gun crowd here: the elimination of the basic human right of self-defense.

Edited to ADD:

However, there isn't enough information to tell if this is a cut and dried case of self-defense, though I'd think he wouldn't be charged here, especially since it happened at night. He exited his house armed --which under the circumstances is a reasonable action to stop this kind of attack, perhaps even the only reasonable action. However, the article doesn't say what the BG's did when he came out --if they continued lobbing Molotov cocktails or took other threatening actions, or whether they fled before or after he shot.
