It's just a lake... and an imaginary line.. and I was joking (sorta) :biggrinjester:

Canada needs a bit of gangsta to spice things up, especially during the winter..

I don't know your sister, so, I can't tell if that's a good or bad thing...

Have you been there? Would you really want to give up such a city?

My wife wants to move to Chicago. I told her I can handle a house swap for the summer if she can find some Chicagoans that like the TX heat... More than that (and the occasional visit otherwise) and she'll need to talk with husband #2 about it.

I'm with TAM... I've lived in NYC and several other big cities.... Fort Worth is about as big a city as I can handle... OK, maybe Denver too..

Cheers

Actually, Dallas and Tarrant counties, including the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth and their suburbs, comprise a bigger metropolitan area than Chicago. If they were one city, they would be at least the third largest in the U.S.

I don't know why your wife wants to move to Chicago. I'll bet I can talk her out of it. The temperature there hit a high of 27°F today, up from an overnight low of 9. They haven't had more than two feet of snow so far, but they still have four more months [sic] of winter there.

The Illinois Supreme Court ruled that Rahm Emanuel can stay on the mayoral ballot pending a final ruling.

The final ruling is in. No surprises.

It sounds fair, assuming he was paying Illinois state income tax all this time.

Most Washington politicians play this game. Washington has a city income tax (8.5% ), and they maintain residency in their home state to avoid the Washington tax.

I just wish they had to do more than own a traffic island in their so-called home state. Mr. Emanuel owns a house, but he rented it out and didn't live there while he was in Washington.

I suspect that the good folk of Champaign-Urbana, Chester, Carbondale, Marion, Harrisburg and Metropolis, et al, are jumping for joy with this bit of news. Oops! I left out Moline.

It won't make no difference in East St. Louis, Bro.
