Promise me you won't go into a rage

The Constitution preserves the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation where the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. James Madison

I'll show my open minded approach. Can any one name me just one good thing that has come out of the United Nations?

The whole UN is the worst that is wrong with governments in general. Because the officials are not elected and therefore not accountable to anyone, they can amass power and corruption. There was no finer example of that than the "oil for food" program under Saddam Hussein. It was an undercover scheme with more corruption and literally no help for the people of Iraq.

I agree with the premise of the video. I'm more afraid of what might happen with the UN than even Chuck Shumer (and he and Boxer are right up there on the list of scary people from a 2nd Amendment standpoint) Apparently Bloomburg is also an ardent supporter and it boggles my mind how much power the mayor of a single city seems to have in support of the UN and other anti-gun causes.

We cannot afford rage on this subject. What we need to do is to keep the pressure our our Senators and not let them ever forget that the International treaty on banning guns via the UN should never see the light of day on the Senate floor.

I may be mistaken, but isn't that video some 5 or 6 years old....pre-obama/reid/pelosi/hillary?

I too think that the UN is the scourge of the free world, but as long as we have the rule of law, and a fundamental observation of the Constitution, there is NO UN treaty that can legitimately trump the Constitution. Now, we can succomb to the screwed up interpretation of the clear language of the Constitution as presented by some federal judges.

The U.N. can pound sand.

The U.N. has NO jurisdiction over the rights guaranteed by the constitution of the United States. Our forefathers created procedures to modify our constitution, which have nothing to do with treaties or a "United Nations" board of idiots.

No worries.

Whatever the stated reasons for its formation, the real reason that the UN exists is to protect existing governmeents. It has never done more than give lip service to protecting ordinary citizens from being tortured, imprisoned, or killed by any government, either their own or an invading army. The UN is basically corrupt and an evil organization.
