Re: On the hunt for a BUG
I carry a PF9 on occasion. I wouldnt call it a BUG for me, as I typically dont carry it along with my XD, but it is indeed a pocket 9mm.
Re: On the hunt for a BUG
if your thinking 380 you really need to try the sig p238 great little gun and very easy to shoot, that being said even though I love my 238. I have been toying with the idea of gettign some kidn of .357/38 even though I am not normally a revolver guy, I think its the only way your going to get a smaller gun but still have the stopping power you want. that being said I have shot 38's before and hated it. if I do get one (when I get one rather) I know I wont enjoy practicing with it like I do my other guns.AustinMRH wrote:So I spent about 4 hours on Saturday at the range in Pearland. What an awesome place. We had an entire range to ourselves and threw lead on 6 different handguns. Sig 239, Sig 229, Para .45 double stack, Colt Officers .357 (6"), S&W 22a target grip, and a browning .22. It was nice to be able to practice conceal holster draw and fire. Shooting IPSC at 10yds I could empty a mag in all A, which certainly helps carry confidence.
The .357 was awesome to shoot. With the DA trigger I was all over center mass. Switching to SA I could put 6 rounds into a 3" circle at 10yds. No issues with kick, though the diamond grip really dug into my hand, certainly something I would do differently.
So at this point I guess I need to head to Red's and try a .380 and a snubby with .357/38. Not sure if a revolver is going to work, but I think with lots of practice I could get over the trigger pull and develop a good DA shot.

You're welcome to shoot my S&W 638 and Ruger LCP at some point if you like ... especially if you let me put a few through that sweet lever gunAustinMRH wrote:.So at this point I guess I need to head to Red's and try a .380 and a snubby with .357/38. The P238 is hands-down the best-shooting .380 that you can rent at Targetmaster in Garland, TX. If I were in the market for a .380, it'd be very high on my list.zero4o3 wrote:if your thinking 380 you really need to try the sig p238 great little gun and very easy to shoot, that being said even though I love my 238. If you're thinking about getting a .357 revolver, you need one of these:

Which is exactly the gun I want. However it might be a bit out of my price range.Dave2 wrote: If you're thinking about getting a .357 revolver, you need one of these:

As a snubby for CCW, I think I would rather carry a hammerless J frame. But throw a scope on the 6" Rhino and I think you have an epic hog pistol. I really want to get my hands on one for to try it though.

Re: On the hunt for a BUG
Buddy of mine has a P238, very nice gun to shoot. Great trigger. It's close enough to the size of my S&W Bodyguard 380 (which is very close to the LCP), so they're all 3 about the same size.
We went out and shot the Sig vs S&W couple of weeks ago, he put about 100 rounds through his, and about 100 through my S&W. The only trouble he had with the Sig was FTE the empty on the last round on a non-Sig magazine (he bought some Colt Mustang magazines, or something like that). Happened to him a couple of times. Sig magazine was fine.
My Bodyguard 380 functioned flawlessly, really liking it so far. Might take a look at that one as well. Though with the long fairly stiff trigger pull, that part is not as nice as the Sig. But the BG hits a good price point between the more-expensive Sig and the inexpensive Keltec / Ruger, but features stuff like slide lock on empty mag, built in laser, and multi-strike capability.

Yeah, 6" is a bit big for a snubby. That's why it comes in a 5" version, too.AustinMRH wrote:As a snubby for CCW, I think I would rather carry a hammerless J frame.Dave2 wrote: If you're thinking about getting a .357 revolver, you need one of these:
