I think Holder is going to be in front of committee's for a long time. He has no answers and can't deflect this issue to anyone else; this may ensnare high level members of the Executive Branch before this plays out.

BTW, I've written both my Senators and my Congressional Representative on the "Project Gunrunner" issue and requested they join the inquiry and push for public hearings, indictments, prosecution and jail time for ANY government employee involved in this scandal to any degree.

I've also asked that they defund BATFE because it is a redundant agency that does not provide any bang for the buck; we need to tighten our fiscal belts, this is a good place to start.
Simething is going on. Look at what we have been seeing for the last couple of weeks. ATF trying to require FFL dealers to report any sale of two or more semi auto long guns. Letter to bloomgurg to quiet down after AZ gunshow article. Info leaked to Post about gun dealers along Mexican border. Now it starts to come out that the ATF was coerceing dealers to make straw sales and the anties are using this to fuel public centiment. This reminds me why I hate politics and dislike a lot of politicians. :banghead:

[Dons tin foil hat for speculative purposes]

It seems to me that BATFE allowing a person to purchase 700 guns illegally and smuggle them into Mexico smacks of shenanigans that our State Dept. has pulled for years. Consider:

1) It sure doesn't take 700 violations to build an indictment. Why were so many weapons allowed to be sold under the noses of the Feds in this case? (Of course, our Federal Government is not known for hiring the brightest folks around.)

2) How does one arm one side of a war so as to throw the outcome the way one desires? Well, you COULD allow them to buy guns illegally and smuggle them over the border. The problem is, what weapon is next? (Can anyone say Iran/Contra?)

3) Could the current Administration have a vested interest of some kind in seeing one particular drug cartel emerge victorious over another in Mexico? Change "drug cartel" and "Mexico" for other entities and locales and you sure would have to believe that sometimes we choose to help the bad to avoid what we think might be the worst. Take Saddam Hussein or the Mujahadeen (Bin Laden) in years past. (I'm not going to offer any more sinister ideas!)

4) Finally, to cover my administrations tracks, I lay the blame on inept law enforcement at Justice Department's doorstep. "Oh this is terrible. Law enforcement run amuck! A letter of censure is in order." "By the way, draw up a private letter of commendation for me to sign.)

Now I must ask myself if I really believe my Government is honest, open, and righteous and all this is merely a bad dream. Sadly, my sixty plus years of observing my Government at work tells me it may just be another sordid episode. I think we can draw conclusions from what repercussions follow these revelations of illegality.

[Takes tin foil hat off and carefully returns it to place where it can be reached quickly.]

This link takes you to a letter written by Sen Grassley after ATF gave a presentation to his committee/office regarding this issue:

Kinda OT... Ruby, Python, and .Net are all generally server-side technologies and unrelated to what what platform the web browser is running on. IIRC, the terms of Apple's license have recently been changed and now allow Java, but Sun hasn't released anything yet.

Which isn't to say that some of Apple's restrictions on the iPhone and iPad aren't :headscratch...

It isn't Flash, because I just viewed the pages on my iPad. Must be something else.

With Holder, it is not just the ATF. He has refused -- and ordered the DOJ to refuse -- to cooperate or provide information to Congress on several issues. So far he has been very successful with it.

And his boss is OK with that.
