Radio show-church carry

Post by wgoforth »

Listening to KLBJ out of Austin, to the Mark and Sam show.... Mark is a liberal and Sam is a conservative. Mark is saying why we shouldn't be allowed to carry in church buildings. Sam, though sympathetic that we should be allowed to (even said "the law should be changed), said it is against the law in TX. He is a Police Sgt. Scarey. Several CHL-ers called in agreeing with him that it's against the law and that their instructors told them it was. Really sad that misinformation like this is spread, esp from sympathizers. Those of you in the Austin area might want to bombard their program with calls and e-mails and straighten them out.

I have yet to encounter a LEO who has not gone through a CHL class that knows the current CHL laws. I even had a detective come to a church staff meeting with regs he claimed he had obtained the day before from the DA stating that church cc was a violation. It took me all of 30 secs on my iPhone to show him that the regs he had quoted had been repealed years ago.
You would think local pd's would bring someone in to train these guys.

Bring him " in." :smilelol5: they do not even teach the new ones. My son graduates March 4th from the Academy. The second week he came home telling me that I was breaking the law for carrying in a the Church that I pastor. :banghead:

So is your son now armed with the knowledge to "teach the teacher"? He could take the opportunity to educate not only his class but many future classes by sharing this information.
