To me, I don't think they manufactured that question very well.

Pretty much sums up the reporting on the story. They did nothing but interview some kids that were all like "oh noes! Virginia tech! Shootouts in the classroom! I want metal detectors!!" :banghead: Watched a different channel last night (don't remember the station) and it was the same thing.

We are down by 61-39%.

Wish the question were worded " Should licensed and trained citizens be allowed to CHL on campus?"

I fear the word "student" conjures up the strereotypical binge drinking, dope smoking animal house frat boy types.

Yep. Its all about playing to people's fearful emotions rather than logic and common sense. Standard liberal tactic.

i think they manufactured it in the way that produces the results they're hoping for. my wife even said something last night about someone on the news talking about passing a law allowing college students to carry guns on campus. i asked her if they mentioned that those students would have to hold a concealed handgun license and pass extensive background checks, she said no, they didn't mention any of that. i think they want to give the average citizen the impression that lawmakers are trying to make it legal for just anyone to have a gun in their backpack.

54.5 yes / 45.5 no.

It's odd that when I went *back* to the website, it doesn't show the current poll numbers, only the radio buttons to vote again. No link to just show the current status. OTOH, if I tried voting again I'm told I've voted the maximum # of times.

Not the best webpage code...
