Dallas area April 2 panel on campus carry

Dallas area April 2 a panel at a graduate conference discussing the proposed bill

I don't know details, maybe Kory can find out, maybe someone already knows ... I saw a request over at "Students for gun free schools" Facebook page requesting anti-gun people to be present on a panel. http://www.facebook.com/sgfstexas#!/sgfstexas?sk=wall" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have no facebook, only a facepalm.

The Facebook entry talks about UTEP. About half way down the page there is this link

Ages ago, Sam Houston once said the Lone Star State was “absolutely overrun” by “noisy, second-rate men who are always in favor of rash and extreme measures.”
The rest of the article talks about binge drinking, etc. I always want to ask: Isn't drinking on the campus against the rules and if it is such a rampant problem, what steps have been taken to correct it?

This was also included:
Ashley Cowie was at an off-campus fraternity party around 1:15 a.m. on January 9 when a fraternity brother showing off his new semi-automatic rifle accidentally fired it. The bullet pierced Ashley’s chest and she died in her twin sister’s arms. Another partygoer was wounded. The gun owner had been drinking and smoking marijuana.
I have a big flash for these folks. Off campus carry is already permitted today under the normal Texas PC. The tragic incident in the story is no way related to CHL but I realize those are facts and they get into the way of the emotional obfuscation of reality.
