Question about CHL Eligibility

Post by cwheels333 »

I understand that in order to be eligible for a Texas CHL you must wait 5 years after the conviction date for a Class A or B misdemeanor. I was seeing if anyone can define "conviction date" for me. In late 2004 I was arrested for a DWI while in college. After a long fight with the court system I was found guilty of DWI on 4/12/2006 and then sentenced to 18 months probabtion. I then completed that probabtion on 10/19/2007. When I called the court office they told me that my "sentence date" was on 4/12/2006 and my "disposition date" was on 10/19/2007. Can anyone please help on what they would consider the conviction date to be. Thanks.
