As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

READ IT

in part:
Since CHL carriers are well aware of the implications regarding the privilege to carry, why create inconsistencies as it relates to sporting events, places where alcohol may be present (part of a college culture), exemptions for private and independent colleges, individual businesses which post Section 30.06, school parking lots, etc? If we, as CHL persons know the law and are responsible, why have any gun-free zones?

"Because... because... because I'm a politician and by nature we don't even trust our own mothers." :leaving
Residence Halls (1) – CHL students should be responsible for securing their own handguns; eliminate language which implies that the institution will be responsible for securing the handguns; (2) allow institutions to require residential CHL students to self-identify, so that institutions may assign the CHL student to a room with a secured floor or wall safe and so that roommates can be notified, in the event they want to request a room change.
I've been lucky enough to have roommates that I trust. However not everyone is that lucky, and I imagine CHL or not, most college students living in dorms would like to have a place where they can keep valuables from their roommates or guests that their roommates invite.

Good article, and thanks again RPB for sharing it with us.

I e-mailed the News Reporter doing the original story "Campus president says NO to guns on Campus" that info too.

I do admire anyone who constantly furthers their education, looks like he passed the CHL class.

He's in the "we" now.

Other than prisons and similar places we expect LEOs to disarm, I have to agree.

So, will you be joining the fun today? I'm hitting the road in fifteen minutes. It's a late start (can I blame DST? ) so I'll miss the 9am meet-up on the Capitol steps but I'll be there for the hearing.

Yes. It's a valid excuse until some time in the fall.
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.
