Have to go to Trinity Mother Frances in the morning and was wondering if it was posted? I did some searching but couldn't find anything. Thanks

Ok thanks. If it's the old 30.05 then I'll carry, but if it's correct within a 1/3 of an inch then I wouldn't chance it. I seen ETMC was posted on texas3006.com. I try not to make going to the hospital a habit but sometimes ya got to go.carlson1 wrote:Some old Penal Code. Can't remember exactly. ETMC is 30.06 posted.

I understand. I will be at Mother's on the 21st. I stopped going to ETMC about 4 years ago because all of my doctors used Mother's so I just joined in.
Hope every thing turns out good for you.

I'll avoid ETMC if possible usually use Good Shepard in Longview. My mom had a procedure done today she'll be out tomorrow or sat. so nothing big. Going to pick her up an LCR for CHL sat. she's pretty excited so all is good.carlson1 wrote:I understand. I will be at Mother's on the 21st. Be aware that the main building at GSMC is posted, though I don't think the lettering is big enough.Texas_Tactical wrote:I'll avoid ETMC if possible usually use Good Shepard in Longview. Trinity Mother Francis are our medical facilities of choice. They are happy with their gunbuster signs as am I. There is no need for further discussion on TMF's signage, if you please.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Yea we are pretty sure TMFH reads the Forum or looks there self up on 30.06.com. This is what the Forum is far is questions.

From time to time, some well intentioned soul thinks it is their duty to notify a business of its non-compliant signs. We have a good CC relationship with TMF in all of its facilities and I'd prefer that no one challenge TMF with their newly found CHL knowledge concerning Texas' 30.06 sign. TMF is obviously comfortable with its "gunbuster" sign and there is no reason to rattle that cage, IMHO.
No offense intended.

over the last 6-8 years I have made many "emergency" trips to Good Shepherd with parents, and the only signage I have seen is on the front sliding glass doors of the main entrance. I also don't think the lettering is 1 inch, nor is white lettering on clear glass what I would call "contrasting background".... especially when you have to chase the glass to read the silly sign. The signs at ETMC that I have seen are on the same type clear, sliding glass doors but do appear to be proper size, although I wasn't going to chase the moving glass with a ruler to check. The Good Shepard sign, at least as of last December (my last "visit") was still only the front main entry. A couple of years ago I had a talk with an older security guard and his "partner" for the night (young city cop) about the legality of the sign, and how they would view CHL's entering the rear emergency/South wing entry. The older gentleman said he was surprised that the admin hadn't taken the silly sign off the front door already and he, himself, was not interested in harrassing a CHL.... the city cop argued that it was illegal for anyone other than LEO to carry in any hospital in the state. Funny thing was that the older security guard asked his young partner if they ever get any updates on legislation. Unfortunately, I have heard in the last month or so Good Shepherd has added metal detectors and additional security at the emergency/south entrances, although that could be something they enforce only on "full moon friday" (a term everyone in emergency services or leo will recognize

Went up there this afternoon and their sign looked pretty legit, legit enough not to chance it. Had to walk all the way back to my vehicle in boots no less to put my gun up

Havent had to go to GSMC(Lgv) since I've had my license(a year) not sure if they are posted or not. Had to visit grandma @ GSMC(Marshall) a few weeks ago and all they had was a no handgun sign(Not a 30.06)
