Condolences to TAM.....

I just got off the phone with our regular vet after he consulted with the emergency vet. Her case is hopeless, and we're on our way over there in a few minutes to have her put to sleep. She gave us 15 good years. She's been a great dog. I can't type any more.

Chris,

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved pet (Jenny).

I know you will miss her greatly and that providing that final kind act for her was a tough decision.

My prayers for you....and a poem someone once sent to me...when I was in your place:

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

So sorry to hear that, TAM. Good dogs become just as precious as family over the years. May she rest in peace.

The loss of a longtime pet is emotionally draining. Accept my condolences and find a puppy at a rescue to love.

Sympathy and understanding, Chris.

We lost ours almost a year and a half ago. Today would have been her 19th birthday.

Chris,

Please accept my condolences. You know, the acute pain will ease to an ache, and there will come a time when you can think of Jenny with a smile, and no tears.

They are with us for years and then gone from our sight, but not from our hearts.

May her memory be a blessing.

Chris,

I feel your loss and share your pain.

I lost a faithful dog and true friend 13 years ago, and it still hurts to think about him.

With my faithful old lab, Fudge, sitting here at my feet, as I worry about her constant panting and the coming vet appointment, I am shedding a tear, well ok, more than one, for your Jenny, TAM.

Tam, my most sincere condolences for your loss.
When we had to put our Marty down a in 2008, a friend gave us an item with the following quote, and while it does not heal the pain, it has helped me believe

"Heaven is the place where all the dogs you've ever loved come to greet you"

I know one day I will see Marty again and I am sure you will see yours

TAM,
I am so sorry about your dog.
My heart aches for you.
In many ways, I am closer to my dog than some of my family.
