Donate Your Old Holster to SCCC for Empty Holster Protest

Post by txsccc »

Every year, Students for Concealed Carry on Campus holds an Empty Holster Protest (April 4-8) where students wear empty, visible holsters while going about their daily activities on campus.

SCCC members are protesting college polices and/or state laws that disarm law-abiding citizens who are legally permitted to carry a concealed firearm in hundreds of other locations in their respective states. Since criminals do not honor rules against firearms, these dangerous policies stack the odds against students and in favor of criminals. The empty holster is a token symbolizing that disarming all law-abiding citizens creates defense-free zone which are attractive targets to criminals.

Many of our members cannot afford holsters, so we are asking for holster donations. It can be any old holster, no matter how worn out or what design. We will be distributing them on April 4th and 6th

May even send a couple "Belly Bands" if someone will wear them over a shirt. ;-)

Hmmmm :grumble

I dug around, remembered I gave most unused/old ones away from the suitcase and drawers to other CHLs ... but I did find some

I am sending 3 ankle holsters and 2 belly bands and 2 or 3 Nylon clip holsters, Hope you can use them

One ankle holsters can also be worn on upper arm, and possibly forearm.

I'm putting together the priority mail box now, my sister-in-law or niece will take it in tomorrow or Thursday ... I don't go in Post Offices...Employees there in them "gun-free zones" "go postal" I hear.

I'm still on the fence about these open holster demonstrations.

I would like to hear some arguments for it if you are so inclined. :bigear: Then maybe I'll join you guys out there that week.

Just to clarify, I'm completely PRO campus carry. I'm just not pro muck stirring or pro everybody I come in contact with knowing I C.C.. Just doesn't seem like it's going to do much to sway the opinion on campus. Also, the students and teachers aren't the people we need to convince. Seems like it would just make people uncomfortable about the issue. They won't see a single holster on campus if this bill passes (outside the kampus kops) so why show them off now? IMO just go about our business quietly now. When it passes, go about our business quietly armed.

Anyways, that's a disjointed summary of how I fell about it as of now. I'm open to comments and I'm very willing to participate if it truly will help the cause.
