CHL training question

Post by texas80 »

I'm new here and just getting started, I was wandering once I get all paperwork done with the DPS and get the OK. Is there a certain amount of time I have before I have to get through a CHL training class? Thanks for any info. :confused5

Most classes provide and have you do all the paperwork on site (prints and all).
Then the only waiting is after the class for USPS and DPS to do their thing. :)

Welcome to the forum texas80.

If you already applied online and paid with a credit card, you have one year from the date you applied to complete the course. Is that what you are asking?

If you apply online with DPS and pay the fee with a credit card, that starts the clock ticking for a one year period to get the rest of the materials submitted. If you take the class first, then you can have up to 2 years from the first date on the Certificate of Training form. As of March 1, fingerprinting must be done thru DPS' sole source vendor (link on DPS web site).

DPS will not give you any "OK" until your application is complete, including completion of the class. The class is required BEFORE DPS starts processing your application.
