I almost didn't look at this because of the title of the page includes gun control.
But it is a very intersesting and well documented compilation of gun facts.

* A 1982 survey of male felons in 11 state prisons dispersed across the U.S. found:[21]
• 34% had been "scared off, shot at, wounded, or captured by an armed victim"
• 40% had decided not to commit a crime because they "knew or believed that the victim was carrying a gun"
• 69% personally knew other criminals who had been "scared off, shot at, wounded, or captured by an armed victim"[22]

"When I was a kid, people who did wrong were punished, restricted, and forbidden. Now, when someone does wrong, all of the rest of us are punished, restricted, and forbidden. The one who did the wrong is counselled and "understood" and fed ice cream." - speedsix
Re: Interesting Gun Facts
That was a very interesting read...I didn't pore over each and every item, but I did skim and scan it pretty well. Lets just say that the "dissenting opinions" of certain appointed officials caused a stream of very colorful language to exit my mouth. There is something VERY WRONG with these people...
Re: Interesting Gun Facts
I agree with the above, some of these dissenting opinions don't make any sense. They believe that the people mean individual in every sense except for one? The one that contributes millions of dollars to their campaign says not to? Jeez...at least the other justices remain consistent in what they say.
Re: Interesting Gun Facts
I agree with the statement that the disenters have some very interesting opinions of what things mean. to me the word state has a dual meaning, the word I think is considered as a form of BE as well as indicating the country as the "state" we should also remember the people who gave the disenting opinions individually or collectively have also made the opinion known that we as the people of the US are not intelligent enough to make an informed decision and therefore need to be told what to do. it has been intimated by the second to last new Justice of the Supreme Court in the past as well as other justices that were from 2 presidents ago.

Would the dissenters be having a "Clintonesque moment", perhaps?JP171 wrote:I agree with the statement that the disenters have some very interesting opinions of what things mean. to me the word state has a dual meaning, the word I think is considered as a form of BE as well as indicating the country as the "state" we should also remember the people who gave the disenting opinions individually or collectively have also made the opinion known that we as the people of the US are not intelligent enough to make an informed decision and therefore need to be told what to do. it has been intimated by the second to last new Justice of the Supreme Court in the past as well as other justices that were from 2 presidents ago.
