Rand Paul is so awesome

This is hilarious.

A "sense of the Senate" resolution by Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky. ...) opposing President Obama's Libyan intervention using Obama's own words as a senator has tied up the U.S. Senate as Democratic Party leaders avoid an embarrassing vote against the leader of their party. Paul's resolution had been offered as an amendment to the Small Business Reauthorization bill.

The Rand Paul resolution, co-sponsored by fellow Senate Tea Party Caucus member Mike Lee (R-Utah), says: "The President does not have the power to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve an actual or imminent threat to the nation." Senator Obama used precisely that language in a December 20, 2007 interview with the Boston Globe when he was campaigning for the presidency.

I also like his $500 billion spending cut proposal, which he acknowledges is a start. So far he is doing well and I look forward to more reforms from him.

I like Rand. His dad is a loon.

The hypocrisy of the President is incredibly obvious. This is just the latest example.

:iagree: Gotta love and respect his dad who is man enough to stand up to the Federal Reserve and the Military Industrial Complex at the same time.

His dad is my representative. (Or was until we moved a couple of weeks ago)
He's great as a Rep. I think he's too 'out of touch' with some things to be President though.

Rand OTOH, he'd get my vote in a heartbeat.

He's one of the few that has put forward a spending plan that would actually make a difference.

I'm of the opinion that if you can't start naming cabinet-level departments that should be eliminated to balance the budget, you aren't serious about deficit reduction. Unfortunately too many members of both parties are too fond of spending our money that I don't think we're going to get meaningful budget reform without a major government debt crisis (ie people stop buying T-bills).
