Houston Port commissioners just voted to terminate their agreement with Libya to consult on their ports. This decision comes after 13 Undercover revealed Khamis Gadhafi, Moammar Gadhafi's son, had been given a tour of Port of Houston facilities in January, just prior to the fighting breaking out in Libya.

What were they thinkin'? Why don't they just invite Khalid Sheikh Mohammed to consult on airline scheduling?

It amazes me that Americans cannot get into Libya, but we are handing out tours for Momar's kids...

Re: Gadhafi's Son Given Tour of Port of Houston
Documents showed negotiations had been underway for more than two years for the Port of Houston to consult on at least five Libyan ports, even helping them improve security. There's more than one memorandum of understanding of the relationship; Edmonds spent more than a week in Libya in 2009 and then offered the Libyans site inspections of Houston port facilities.
Port of Houston officials, according to records, have spent $60,000 alone just flying to Libya to woo the Ghadafi government.

All of this just seems to be a case of unabashed greed.

It never ceases to amaze me how some will turn a blind eye when it comes to business and big money. National security? Bah! There's money to be made!

We cant take a pleasure boat up the Channel past the Battleship anymore, but the Port Authority allows that type of visit and VIP treatment ?
