New Additions

Post by BrianSW99 »

I picked up a couple new additions from my FFL this evening (Tom Hart in Plano-highly recommend him if you're in the area and need something transferred):

First up, a S&W 442 No-Lock .38+P snub nose. This is for pocket carry, either as a back up, or for those times when I either can't or don't want to carry something bigger.

And just for fun (and because it was cheap), a 1943 Mosin-Nagant. This will be making it's debut at the DFW range day on May 14th. It may take me that long to get all the cosmoline off of it.

Nice looking MN. Tula or Ishvesk? I picked up another one today, a 1935 Tula.

I used a steamer on a No. 4 Mk.1 Enfield a couple of weeks ago to get the cosmoline out, and it worked really well, especially on the stock.

I had to google to find out how to tell the difference, but it looks like its an Ishvesk.

Does Tom have a storefront? How does one get in touch with him?

He has a thread here in the FFL forum:

viewtopic.php?f=22&t=23654" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

No storefront, he operates out of his dining room. I've transferred 5 guns through him now and have had nothing but a great experience each time.

I've picked up 5 Mosins since I caught the disease. 7.62X54r.net has a slew of info and markings. Awesome rifles and most are pretty cheap.
