.40S&W
If nothin rips, tears, or splits by in the morning I will start loading 40s. Hope to get 600 done the old fashion way.
RCBS one at a time. All the shooters I am loading for now make me start to think I may need a Square Deal B.

I've like loading .40 S&W.
I usually use 175 gr LSWC bullets and Ramshot Zip powder. What are you going to load?

I have some 180 Raniers that I got REAL cheap from a quitter & they will go over 6.6 of Unique. Run aut about 950 or range ammo.

Re: .40S&W
Longtooth if all you are going to load on the SDB is 40 it is a great press, If you are going to load the other calibers that you shoot you might consider a 550b You can use all the dies that uou have and buy the conversion kits for the other calibers. I have conversions for .45acp, 9mm, and 44mag for the SDB that I have.
Are you going to be at the range sat for the work day? I will be there.

LT, that's pretty hot - - - Alliant's max load for Unique with a 180 gr Gold Dot is 6.7 - - - unless you've shot this load I'd back it off to 5.9-6.0 for starters. Just lookin out for ya.longtooth wrote:I have some 180 Raniers that I got REAL cheap from a quitter & they will go over 6.6 of Unique. Run aut about 950 or range ammo.

Re: .40S&W
6.6 seems pretty hot to me too. I load 180 grain Berry's with Unique. For IDPA I started at 5.6 and eventually down loaded all the way to 5.0.
For normal range shooting, the 5.6 stuff felt similar to factory.
