Can I carry in the cotton bowl

Post by magillapd »

This Sunday my wife wants to go to a dog bowl at the cotton bowl in Fair Park. My understanding is that you can't carry in the stadium when there is a game going on, but what about this? Here is the link for the dog bowl

Any help would be appreicated.

Every contact I know of with DPD elicits the statement that you may not carry there because: "(2) on the premises where a high school, collegiate, or professional sporting event or interscholastic event is taking place . . ."

Which of course would not apply if there was no such even taking place, but they cannot seem to understand what they quote.

It would be legal for you to carry there. The main question is, will there be security wanding people or checking bags as you go in. For this type of event, my guess would be no.

The Cotton Bowl is not posted, there is absolutely no security (unless you count the guy walking around scoopin' poop' "rlol" ).

I carried at the dog bowl last year, I won't be caught in south Dallas unarmed.

If you can't carry there I wouldn't go. Not the best part of town from what I remember when I use to live in the DFW area years ago.

And I sure wouldn't want to leave my handgun in the car.

The problem has been solved. The wife decided that she didn't want to go to Dallas after all, so once again, the universe is in order!! :woohoo

She's obviously a woman of great discernment and in possession of a higher intellect! Nobody in their right mind would want to go to south Dallas or the Fair grounds......unless it was the only way they could get some fried beer (which was, by the way, the worst fair food I ever had).
