It's finally here!!!

Post by Scott in Houston »

It arrived today. I'm so stoked. My first rifle that has more than 7 rounds. :anamatedbanana

Daniel Defense M4v1.

I can't shoot it until Saturday at the earliest, and that's killing me! Think my neighbors would mind if I tested it in the back yard?

I plan to shoot irons for a while, likely through at least one class. Then I'll figure out what optic I'd like... Aimport or Eotech. I'm leaning Aimpoint right now.

Now off to YouTube to learn how to clean it and stuff. hehe :woohoo

Nice Rifle. You planning on leaving the forward grip that far forward or did it just get shipped that way?

If I ever get one I'd probably have the front grip up like that too. I would try it all over, but since a couple of you have mentioned it, is there a reason why being that far forward is undesirable?
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

It seems to be all preference. I think for close quarter combat closer in is preferable and for longer shooting farther out.

Aint that the truth. Don't know if anyone else has been watching, but after seeing Jay Lim on top shot make some pretty darn decent shots with a "teacup and saucer" handgun grip, I'm kind of at the point where if its a safe way to handle the weapon and you can make hits with it, I don't care if you hold it with one hand and give the target the bird with the other.
