9.0 Power Pistol with 185 gr bullet is a very warm load. I chrono 1085 with a 185 Montana Gold bullet, 1112 with a Speer Gold Dot bullet. The Speer manual says you can go to 9.5 but the 9.0 load was hot enough for me. I have only shot this load in steel frame 1911's.

I'm a little leary of the data from "guest"

Check Alliant's online load data they have several "hot" 185 gr loads but they are'nt +P :thumbs2:

Longtooth, if you haven't already, check Ballistics By The Inch.

Handloader magazine had a nice article with dozens of .45 ACP +P loads some time back. I think you can buy the digital edition pretty cheaply.

http://www.hodgdon.com/basic-manual-inquiry.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; would be a good start. Free load info.

there's some discussion and power pistol data here:

personally, in 45ACP I don't think that +P loads are necessary, but then I shoo 460 Rowland :-)
