I read the referred website info and have been watching for other coverage of the convention as well. The pictures and descriptions from pro-gun folks are (not surprisingly) at odds with our (houston) local news coverage of the event. One of the TV stations yesterday ran a VO on the convention and showed ONLY video of what they called protests outside. Numerous people were seen walking along the street and sidewalk. It was too short to discern any signs carried, but looked suspiciously like folks going to the convention, not a protest.

I have to admit I'm slow today. I couldn't find what was so funny and then it hit me.

It all goes to show that there is no huge anti gun movement. More people own guns than do not. Most people who claim they are anti-gun will admit they don't know much about them and really haven't given it much though. Those who actively work against owning and bearing arms are a very small minority who are community organizers or other elitist types, who feel the guns are an obstruction to a statist society and must be controlled as in every other factor in the bourgeoisie lives. The community organizers can not rule until they they disarm the populist, fortunatly there really isn't as mant of them as the elitist MSM would lead us to believe, they just make a lot more noise per person than the rest of us.

Witness the committee hearings on RKBA bills in the Texas legislature. But since the Texas senate is still blocking SB 354 from debate, what does that say?

It says that a Senator or two can't play nice with others, didn't understand the rules of the game, picked up their balls, and went home. So to speak.

It says the Texas Senate rules need to be changed so we are not subject to minority tyranny. Liberty is correct.

The Feds had to divert all the planned protestors for the NRA convention over to Washington DC for the spontaneous show of support for Barack Obama having used his 9mm on OBL.

I grew up in Pittsburgh and spent the first 27 years of my life there. The people are not as into handguns as they are down here, but just about every household has a long gun. We went out rifle shooting all the time as teenagers. I can't see much of a anti-firearm protest in Pittsburgh unless you had folks like Bloomberg busing them in.
