Check out this link regarding the repeal of the 90 day suspension for not displaying your license upon demand of an officer. I am a little confused by this what exactly does it mean?

If you are carrying concealed you are still required to show your CHL if asked for ID by an LEO. There used to be a penalty [90 day suspension] if you did not show your CHL. That penalty was removed.

in simple terms, there's no penalty for not informing the officer you are carrying. The obligation is still there - - - If the cop was going to give you a warning or a pass he may not when he finds out you are a CHL and then asks you if you are carrying. Just my thoughts.

Makes sense wildbill, obligation without penalty makes more sense to me. Regardless, I will still present the officer with the ID I was just curious if I was understanding it properly.

I believe that you understand it correctly. I also present my CHL when asked for ID.

There was a knowledgeable statement made in another thread which said that Texas is the only MUST SHOW state. I think I'd show mine as a measure of good faith in another state IF I got stopped by the local LEO; especially, if I had my 'big iron on my hip'. That said, we're the senile old couple plodding along at, or under, the posted speed limit in the right lane and really don't expect to be stopped.

It may be the only MUST SHOW state, but it certainly is not the only MUST NOTIFY state. Many states require you to verbally notify, and then if the officer asks to see the license you have to show it to them.
