What Dallas area ranges are friendly to outside instructors?

Post by BrianSW99 »

Can anyone up in the Dallas area tell me which ranges allow outside CHL instructors to do the proficiency portion at their range? Not the classroom portion, just the shooting. The closest ranges to me are the Garland range and Bullet Trap. Also, what is the norm for the student range fees? Do they normally charge full price for each student, or do you negotiate a reduced rate?

Thanks,
Brian

Not the bullet trap. None to my knowledge.

I forgot about Texas Handgun Academy. It's not a public range, but they do have a small (7.5 lane) private indoor range that they allow outside instructors to use. They also rent classrooms. Kinda expensive, though.

Dallas Pistol Club allows outside CHL instructors to use our range for the shooting qualification part. You have to go through our Range Officer training class and provide liability insurance to the club. PM me if you are interested in DPC

Great Southwest Gun (http://www.greatsouthwestgun.com/) in Grand Prairie allows outside instructors to conduct their shooting there. Normal range fees, but you can try to negotiate something.

Thanks for the replies everyone. It sounds like Garland or DPC are probably my best bets based on location. I'm still pretty early in the process. I only recently submitted my instructor application.
