WTS Colt Python 8" DFW North, try concealed carrying this!

Post by dubya »

Howdy, this is far from a carry piece but I'll list it here since I've "known" a bunch of guys here for quite a while.
Colt Python 8" Nickel $1,325.

No box or papers but it is in very very good shape, almost no turn line and the revolver is very clean/unmarked.
The light is not great in my office. I will try to take better lit pictures. The nickel finish is excellent on this Python. The low light makes some areas look mottled but they are not. Includes new stocks shown and no-name rubber grips that came on it (which feel great but don't look too "cool"). If I keep it long enough before someone else wants to have it, it will also have a set of custom Elk Horn grips (but not yet). It's been around 30 years; it's in no rush to get anywhere. I am the second owner (purchased last month to assist a neighbor who lost her husband). Excellent shape, faint turn line, no box or papers, inspection and firing available to legitimate purchaser at the Dallas Pistol Club (that means cash in hand and you don't look like Charles Manson [or, if you do look shady, you have a CHL]) prior to purchase. Bet I can find a box of ammo or discount for TXCHL holder/forum member (preferred). K serial number, mfg 1981. Edit: I did not buy this planning to sell it but I would prefer to have it in stainless or blued; they are rather hard to find stainless. the nickel is growing on me however. :-)

Good shooting,
JW :patriot: :txflag:

The only thing stopping me from jumping on this is a lack of $1,325. Very nice though.

I don't see a picatinny rail or sling swivel up front, so wondering where do you mount the bipod?

You guys are funny!

Instead of selling the Python I should charge $1 to post your cracks here and split it with Charles...

Man, wish I had the $$$. That would make the perfect odd-couple companion for my snubbie nickel Colt Diamondback.

As requested, grips that came on Python. Not Pachmayer, not sure what they are.
The image at the top of the rubber grips looks like a cowboy on a bucking horse to me! ??

A member on the Colt forum told me those are Mustang brand grips and he sold them in the 70s and 80s; according to him superior to Pachmayer. I can say the gun feels better and balances better with them on it than wood target stocks - just not as "pretty". One way or another this Python is getting test fired tomorrow. :anamatedbanana

Thank you for the offers to buy shipped. If I decide to ship I will check to see if you are still interested.
I'd like to do a FTF with a member to allow inspection even if it costs me some $; everyone is happy that way. Plus it saves the buyer FFL fees and shipping.
Good shooting!
