Two words. Terroristic threat.

Terroristic Threat is a penal code offense (Section 22.07). A person commits the offense of Terroristic Threat if he or she threatens to commit any offense involving violence to any person or property with the intent to place a person in fear of imminent serious bodily injury. Penalty: Class B misdemeanor.

Also possibly, Texas Stalking Law

The law on stalking can be found in Section 42.072 of the Texas penal code.

How is stalking proven?

1. Intent of stalker: Stalker has the intent or the knowledge that his/her actions will instill fear of death or bodily injury to the victim or a member of the victim's family or household. Threats can be explicit (e.g.-stating that he is going to kill the victim) or implied (e.g.-veiled threats, hurting the family pet). Threats have to be aimed at a specific person; they cannot be general threats. Threats may be conveyed by the stalker or by someone acting on behalf of the stalker.
2. Conduct of stalker: Conduct has to occur on more than one occasion and be directed towards the victim and/or the victim's family or household members. More than one police report is not required. The acts may include threatening contact by mail or by phone, or damaging the victim's property.

Penalty: Third Degree Felony- unless there is a prior conviction for stalking, in which case the penalty is upgraded to a 2nd degree felony.

I would be of the opinion that if someone had threatened MY life knowing I had a CHL they probably would be just as willing to kill me unarmed and toss a cheap throwdown gun.

Pretty sure that I would be figuring out a way to know what this idiot looks like, so I would be just that much more toward a level playing field. The gun would definitely remain on my body and my forays into gun free kill zones would become even more rare than now. My eyes would be constantly scanning for anything out of place and I would be paying real close attention to my "Spidey-senses".

She told my ex.....my ex...told her boyfriend.....he says he'll use my gun to shoot himself in the shoulder after he kills me. I do not know this guy at all and wouldn't know him until I get the snot knocked out of me. I did file a police report.
Just be diligent in your situational awareness ... but don't let him consume your day. At the end of the day guys who (allegedly) say stuff like that usually don't have the guts to actually DO anything to follow it up. And, usually they just like to posture for their women folk.

And if it came down to it ... who's to say you'd get the snot knocked out of you... The only unfair fight is the one you lose. "rlol"

No flames here...had similar thoughts run through my head. For instance, someone asking a question because THEY are the one who wants to get away with it...and looking for pointers. OR, a hoplophobe looking to cause some verbal trouble and perhaps get someone to say something "terrible" they can then "quote" to their anti-firearm friends, the media, etc. Not saying this is the case, just that the way some folks are these days, AND the fact that most of us don't really know the rest of the folks on here except by what we post, lots of possibilities exist. Two cents worth, complied with.

Since we are broaching the topic of hard to believe posts, I have read more than a few posts made here that appear to be embellished. I figure they are just trying to make conversation or possibly sound like tough guys, depending on the type story. It is hard to know when a poster is telling the truth or not, so I usually just roll my eyes when reading them and keep it to myself. I sure don't want to call someone a liar when they aren't. Life is too short for me to care if someone is making up crap on an internet forum. ;-)

Many suspect this is not a real post. Understandable maybe. Why would you not believe somebody you never met. Seems strange to be that negative from just reading a few lines, for the others, thank you. I am meeting with detectives from SAPD Thursday, hopefully. I would never have thought of that since I was worried about other things a little more pressing, like is this going to happen when my kids are with me? You know, this guy is probably not going to do anything, what worries me, is that I have never met him. I do not know him. Now, being in a heightened state of alert, that guy who may be approaching me at a parking lot be just someone who needs help or is it this the end of me he predicted? I may now put myself in a position just because someone, who has no business in my business just gave me a reason to be more defensive. I did not get this CHL to hurt or "hunt" anybody. I agree with a post that said bad guys don't need CHL's. I really hope to never use my pistol, and I was hopeful in this kind of forum, pearls of useful advice could be offered, and from most, there were. That was my first post, I do not even have my CHL yet, and nothing seemed important enough until then, but since I have the attention of some, I'll ask a question I maybe should already know, " How wet can a pistol get before it will not fire?" I do not mean swimming wet, but raining wet? Falling in a puddle wet? For those disbelievers, is there a holster available for my speedo? (The last one sarcastic, I know there are!)

Actually, ONE said he thought you were not believable. Others, such as myself, commented that I have read other postst in here that were not believable.

You have that one backwards. Why would anyone believe someone they have never met? For all we know your sitting in your moms basement with a bag of Doritoes typing in your underroos. Just to remind you, I am not saying your a liar in this post either. Just as I never said you were a liar in my other post. I am saying I don't know you from the man on the moon. Your post is nothing compared to some of the stuff we read on this forum. Relax and have a cold one.

To answer your wet gun question...any decent manufactured handgun will fire no matter how wet it is. Glocks even fire under water. But that, as everyone on this forum will testify, is because Glock is the best made self defense handgun one could buy. If handguns were around in biblical times, Simon Peter would have pulled a Glock and shot off the ear of the servant.

Right. As long as the primers and gun powder stays dry. It's not a question of whether or not the gun will fire while wet, but of how many times the gun will fire while wet. If you've put the marine spring cups on it, the Glock 17 (and only the 17) can be repeatedly fired underwater. In general, however, that stunt will damage both the gun and you. I am not qualified to comment on how dry other guns need to be before you can safely fire them, but I can tell you that it's not something I worry about with my gun. I figure that as long as the barrel isn't blocked, it probably won't blow up on me, and any other damage sustained by saving my life is a price worth paying.
