Mrs. Anygun and I are selling our house. If we are successful (expecting an offer this week) we will be full time RVers. We will be living in an RV resort in Clear Lake Shores.
I am currently holding on the CHL information line and hopefully they will be able to answer my question but I thought I would throw this out there.
Since we will be living in the RV resort can we use the resort address on our CHL? We will change our mailing address to a PO Box but the licenses require a physical address.
Are there any other full time RVers on this forum?
We are proceeding on our retirement plan. We will be building our retirement home in Kerrville. The real estate market is not ideal and hopefully we will not take a beating on our home sale.

Re: Full Time RVers - Address on CHL
I spoke with the CHL licensing folks and the gentleman I spoke with said that the physical address of the RV resort was fine.
After doing some internet searches I found the Escapees RV Club in Livingston. Lots of folks use the service and they give you a physical address to use and it is acceptable for Texas drivers licenses but Polk County can call you for jury duty. I don't think I will go that route.

Re: Full Time RVers - Address on CHL
Great question!!
Mrs. RAM and I are RVers as well, and hope to one day be full timers when we retire. However we are more interested in State and national parks, two week limit, except for hosts.
We don't have kids, so the option of using kid's addresses is out. I'm only 40 so we'be got time to figure it out.
Any full timers out there that travel constantly and don't have kids that might have input.
Thanks in advance.

To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. How feeble is the mindset to accept defenselessness. How unnatural. How cheap. How cowardly. How pathetic-TN

Re: Full Time RVers - Address on CHL
Not an RV'er (although I've done plenty with my parents) but a buddy of mine used to own a Pack n Mail type of business. You can rent a mailbox from the store, it's a real/physical address, I would bet a penny that it would/could qualify as a legit address for your CHL, but I could be wrong (where's my wife? lol). There are some folks at the marina who live on their boats that do this. Might be an option for you, I'm sure the business could also forward your mail to another address if you are going to be at another location for awhile.

If you can't find the answers you are looking for in the RV sector, ask these folks.: http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Any full timers out there that travel constantly and don't have kids that might have input.
It's a forum dedicated to folks who live on their boats and cruise the world.
There are companies these folks use that provide a legal physical address for both residency purposes and mail handling.

Re: Full Time RVers - Address on CHL
Well, we did it. Sold the house to a wonderful couple - empty nesters on a corporate relocation from Beaumont. Closed on Tuesday.
Already switched my DL and CHL addresses. Used the RV resort as a physical address and our PO Box for mailing. Piece of cake. Except for moving and storing our stuff.
Estate sale helped. Mrs. Anygun and her networking skills made short work of lots of furniture.
Moved gun safe to climate controlled storage. Upped my NRA Arms Care plus insurance.
Being debt free and living in the RV is a nice change. Now we are free to proceed on the next step in our plan towards retirement. Hurricane season is not a worry anymore either.

Re: Full Time RVers - Address on CHL
I wouldn't sweat the mailing service address and the possibility of jury duty. We too are RVer's and plan to full time it someday. I frequent a few RV boards and the consenus is that if you get a jury summons while travelling all you have to do is call the court clerk to explain that fact to them and they will let you off the hook. Some places even note your file as being full time "absentee" so you don't get future jury summons'es.
