Starting off the new year on the right foot....

Post by RKirby »

OK...no more procrastinating. This year is gonna be different. Time to git'er done!

Well, I have never made a new years resolution that I didn't keep. So just to make sure I didn't break this year's resolution before the new year was even a day old like I usually do..................I started the application process online tonight.

Spent the money, no backing out now. Hurry up and send the packet, DPS, I'm ready to go!

Now will someone direct me to my chair please. I prefer a recliner, leather if possible.

Bout' dern time! ;-) Don't you think you should start showing up at some Thursday night matches and practicing with the pistol you plan to carry?

I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961

Agree completely w/ HV. No recliners or cushie chairs in the waiting room. This is a work while you wait room & you cant get too comfortable. Start now choosing carry weapon, getting holster, belt, & other gear together. Practice home carry. Practice at the range. Practice awareness. Access & presentation. Dry fire drills. There is a lot to do before the plastic comes in.
Good resolution. You are surrounded by encouraging supporters.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

Thanks everyone! Your help and encouragement is and will be appreciated.

HV...

I'm gonna have to find a way to squeeze a match or two in. I think I really need to knock the rust off. My present work schedule makes it tough right now, though.
I sure do miss those Thursday night matches.

age_ranger...

Crosstimbers IDPA hosts matches the first, second and third Thursdays of each month at Winchester Gallery range in east Ft. Worth. Also the fourth Saturday at the JCSSA range in Johnson county. Great bunch of people to shoot with. More info here:

LT...

Already have the gun(s), just need to find a decent concealment holster, All of my current stuff was bought with IDPA in mind. Going to stay with one of my XD's to start with..most likely the service model.

I'm open to any recomendations for a good holster from any of the other XD shooters .
