I would only differ to say that I would include the moderate left as desiring of being left alone. They differ from conservatives and libertarians only to a matter of degree as to their view of the role of government in our lives. It is the hard left that always posts this kind of creepy death wish stuff......which is exactly why they are not to be trusted with governance.74novaman wrote:And this is why we have a constant struggle. I fear utopianists more than any other type of person, because they're far more likely to justify stringing people up from the lampposts to get there.
I think that the electorate made a HUGE mistake in listening to the siren song of a Saul Alinsky trained community organizer in the last presidential election. I think that a large percentage, perhaps as many as a third of them, had no stinkin' idea that he would actually set about to transform America into a socialist nation. I think that most of his supporters merely took that to be campaign rhetoric designed to keep his base fired up. I believe they never actually thought that he meant what he said. Holy cow. When a defective like Mitt Romney actually beats a sitting "president of the people" going into a campaign cycle, that says something. Six months ago, I was ready to concede that Obama might be unbeatable for reelection. Today I'm of the opinion that he could take a terrible beating come November 2012. I am actually optimistic about his defeat.
