William Ruger died in 2002. Sturm, Ruger & Company is publicly owned. No members of the Ruger family are currently in upper management of the company.
It's your decision if you want to punish a company's employees and shareholders for something that its late founder said decades ago.
Probably one could find fault with founders and past management of most companies. A lot of "gun control" legislation in the 20th century was pushed by American firearms manufacturers who did not want to compete with lower-cost imported weapons, such as the so-called Saturday night specials and assault weapons.
You don't have to go too far back in history to find company managements that were racist, anti-Semitic, or dealt with corrupt foreign regimes, including the Nazis.

Bill Ruger's dead. Ruger makes pistols that hold more than 10 rounds, an AR15 that sells with 30 round mags, and just introduced a 25 round mag for the 10/22.lkd wrote:Count me out on helping them. I, for one, have not forgotten what Bill Ruger did, and the long-term joy it has brought to the anti-gun industry.

I can't really hold what a previous owner did 20 years ago against a company, although I know some people still haven't forgiven S&W for deals they made with the devil (or Hillary Clinton--same difference really) three owners ago.

And, yes, you can find all sorts of warts if you go back in history, but these two companies specifically stood with the antis in the mid 90s. I have no illusion that my personal purchasing decisions wont affect them, but I also choose not to forget how they played their cards in the name of protecting their business.
I don't fear guns; I fear voters and politicians that fear guns.
