...I used a Rock Chucker to load .38 and .44Spl back in the day...used case lube from a tube on a rolling pad...hated the sticky mess...had to wipe down every round when I was done...was told a carbide sizing die would make lube unnecessary and got one...threw the lube pad out...enjoyed cleaner shells...but most reloaders I see do use lube of one kind or another...why do you do that??? there must be other benefits that I missed...I just din't want a shell sticking in the sizing die...and carbide stopped that...what else happens using lube??? thanks for the answer...

Creative. Better stock up on bulbs before they are outlawed. :grumble

Tangentially, my father made contact lenses for a living and I remember him using a lamp like that to heat up small cylinders of pitch to polish the lenses after he cut them. Just a neat memory I have.

I've also seen people mount a thin aluminum plate on top of the bench and below the lubesizer, and then lay a small clothes iron down on the plate to heat lube.

I used to use one of those pipe heaters sold at hardware stores to keep outdoor pipes from freezing..worked well for me.
