Another gun getting taken out of my carry rotation.

Post by G.A. Heath »

I am temporarily removing my Sig P226 from the carry rotation so that I can send it back to Sig for their Sig Service Plan. They are currently running a special promotion for fathers day and the total cost for the sig service plan and round trip shipping is $127.45. The Sig service plan includes the following services:
Detail strip and ultrasonic cleaning.
Replacement of commonly worn springs and pins.
Thorough inspection of the entire firearm.
Complete lubrication and reassembly.
Installation of new night sights.

The website says they will install their SIGLITE night sights, however the promotional email says Meprolite sights. Additional custom shop services are 30% with this promotion (dependant upon the purchase of Sig Service Plan). I don't know if the email is intended for the General public, or just the people that are on their spam^h^h^h^h mailing list so if you have not received the email but want to know more PM me.

That's a great deal.

If I had a Sig, I'd jump on it in a heartbeat.

The night sites alone would probably cost about that much for the hardware and install, hard to beat that!

Get the Meprolite night sights. These are by far the brightest I ever used. I compare them to my S&W,Glock and Ruger handguns. They were all bought with night sights from the factory.

I got the same email and I'm seriously considering sending in my P239. It hasn't had ANYTHING done to it since it was new about 14 years ago. Other than routine cleaning and replacing night sites.

At the bottom of the email there is a "forward to a friend" area where you can put up to 3 email addresses at a time.

Not much of a choice, but I do know the Meprolights and use them (After all they are on my Kimbers). The Sig Service Plan has always been a good deal, now its an awesome deal while this promotion goes on.

I have a question on this. Do you have to have an FFL ship the gun to Sig and then have Sig ship the gun back to the FFL? My wife's sig is haing some issues and this looks like a good price to get it taken care of.

No FFL needed, they will email you a shipping label (UPS in my case) to print out and affix to the shipping box. PM me your email addy and I will forward you the info, but you need to get this started asap as the offer expires tomorrow (Tue. )or Wed. if I remember the details right.

I very much appreciate knowing about this. I called them this morning and can take advantage of their offer - though they tell me it will be a 3 week turnaround instead of the normal 2 weeks because of the popularity.

Thanks very much for sharing

My P250 Compact made it home today. They gave me an estimate of 2-3 weeks but it was actually 5 weeks, to the day, since I sent it.

My first reaction to the new night sights was that they were small and not very bright. But when I put the bore sight in and locked in on target at 45 feet, they are dead on. I'm anxious to see what the sights actually look like in the dark.

I hope to get to the range tomorrow and see how the gun actually shoots after the change. Bass Pro range is very dark and I hope that the night sights prove to be a help there.
