DPS told me my CHL was fine but I couldnt renew my DL, didnt make any sence to me. I now have at least 3 people I know about with my name and DOB that are not upstanding people, if I ever have kids they are getting the most messed up name ever to avoid this.

NICS has received my prints and are reviewing. They suggested I contact local authorities and run a background check if I wanted to find out what the fugitive warrants were for. Otherwise, just wait for the next NICS letter after they have re-reviewed my file. Heck, that sounds pretty good. I can find out who has the warrants for some traffic ticket that did not have the i's dotted and t's crossed and clear everything up. Right? Well, the young lady at my local PD said sorry, but if I run a check on you and a warrant comes back I will arrest you. :eek6 Even for a traffic ticket that I'm trying to get straightened out? I explained what was going on with NICS, that I'm trying to do the right thing, and that to the best of my knowledge I am not nor never have been a criminal. She seemed to be a little more sympathetic and said if you've never had any problems in Carrollton, TX you shouldn't have any local warrants so I will not arrest you for anything outside of our jurisdiction. BTW, I renewed my DL in March. I'm bordering on a panic attack. Who's gonna bail me out, pick up the wife, let the dogs out? Well, I am happy to report that I am not wanted by Carrollton PD, TX, or any other agency! I had them give me a clearance letter, but it only says Carrollton. :headscratch Oh well.

I am a law abiding citizen that NICS has confused with someone else and I just have to be patient and let the wheels of bureaucracy turn! Panic attack over, anxiety level normal, life is good. :patriot: Sent my CHL photos off. Just need NICS appeal resolved, CHL class, and range time.
