I had a secret clearance and I don't believe it had any impact on the processing time.

Iwas concerned about the same thing. The reasoning was that if you had a clearance, that meant you had an FBI file (TRUE) and that file had to be screened. No clearance, posssibly no file. No screening necessary. I don't believe there was any impact on mine.

I had a couple buddies at work that have Top Secret clearances get theirs in about 2 weeks. Don't worry about constantly checking it. I was checking mine multiple times a day. Lol.

Yeah I know. Now that mine is in the manufacturing stage it seems like time is standing still.

My background has been under review since 6/16...two weeks today. Others who took the class with me have plastic in hand already. Hubby sent his in Monday, received in Austin yesterday, we've been joking that he may get his before me.

I have heard it all just depends on whose desk it lands on. Some are fast, some are slow. Obviously mine landed on someone's desk who took two weeks in Maui or something because it hasn't changed in two weeks. I called DPS on Monday and the wonderful gentleman who answered my call said that it looks like everything is in order and ready to go to manufacturing....but here we are...

Good luck on the printing. I am going on day 4 after website said mailed! It took only 9 calender days to go from submitted to mailed and still waiting...pure agony! Mine is probably driving around the countryside under a DQ wrapper on the floorbord of the postman's vehicle!
