SOLVED - WT Borrow/Rent Sight Drifting Tool

Post by RoyGBiv »

If you're in the North Fort Worth/Mid Cities area and have a sight drifting tool you would consider loaning or renting to me, I have a set of night sights I'd like to install on my HK P2000SK.

I've called a few local gunsmiths and they charge about the same to do it, but, all you get is "we'll install the new sights in the same positions as the old sights". No confirmation using a laser bore sight or firing a few rounds... So... I'd prefer to do it myself, and I'd prefer to have a decent tool, rather than using a punch and hammer on my not-scratched HK. :eek6

I'm fairly competent with such things and could leave you a deposit to assure the safe return of your tool.

I suppose another possibility is to let a good smith do the work, but I'd like to at least have the sight picture confirmed with a laser, if not a few shots downrange. One local guy said he can do it, but that the price would be double.. Un-cool, I thought.

Thanks for considering. :thumbs2:

If I had one, amigo, I would certainly loan it to you for nothing. Just the kind of guy I am! Of course we'd have to make a range trip to verify accuracy :thumbs2:

Thanks for the sentiment at least.! :thumbs2:

I spoke with the gunsmith at Shoot Smart and he agreed to verify the alignment if I provided the ammo. Seems quite reasonable to me.
Looks like that's what I'll do..

Cheers.
