A/C compressor died! - Ed Brown ordered!

Post by AEA »

Thursday afternoon (102 Deg) my A/C compressor died! Too late to get anyone out that day, but setup a appointment for Fri. A/C guy replaced it Fri afternoon. I was waiting for him on the patio under the umbrella with a wet rag over my head! It was 99 in the house but cooler outside with the breeze and wet rag! "rlol"

Was just about to pull the trigger on a new Ed Brown build! Had to defer and use the money for the A/C. :mad5 :mad5

EDIT: Ordered the Brown anyway! :woohoo

Yuk. Been in that situation before and it's no fun.

Mine went out a couple of years ago in August. It got up to 120 degrees upstairs. There's nothing like getting out of the shower and immediately breaking into a sweat.

After the replacement, it took a full 24 hours to cool the house back down.

It's been brutal down here as well. I had to replace a compressor a couple of months ago. It didn't cost an Ed Brown, more like a Kimber Ultra. I am glad that you got a guy to come out so quick. :thumbs2:

You could always do like I have seen so many do: Go to Home Depot, buy two or three room or portable A/Cs, and use them until your central is repaired, and then return them to Home Depot complaining that they don't cool very well.

I know, every time I see two or three at a time going out the door, that I will be seeing them back in a few days, and that they work perfectly well, but will be marked down 25% just because they were returned.

Same for me. July of last year. Sure was glad that I could hustle the family and dog over to the hotel until I could get someone out.

It seems Home Depot guarantees their "plants" for a year.
The ultimate I heard was that Home Depot had to make a special rule regarding Christmas Trees. Seems people were trying to return them after Christmas under the guarantee. :banghead: :headscratch "rlol"

Had the same thing happen to me last August. I feel for you.

Oh well,.......
I have decided to commit to the order (that has already been ordered by the Distributor) for the Ed Brown SF-SS-G3. Just using the 'ole "Plastic".

Standard Features:
Stainless Steel Model 5" Government model slide, single stack government model frame. The John Browning traditional design for the ultimate in reliability and accuracy.

Weight: approximately 38 ounces with an unloaded magazine inserted.

Exclusive Chainlink treatment on forestrap and mainspring housing for the ultimate in durability, secure grip, and extreme use.

Slide/Frame coated with Gen III for low glare, superior rust protection, and improved wear resistance, with traditional "square cut" serrations on rear of slide only.

Fixed dovetail 3-dot night sights with high visibility white outlines.

Custom Mods (not pictured):
Naked Slide
Carry Cuts
Recessed Slide Stop

Good news is I got in BEFORE their Price Increase! :anamatedbanana
Bad news is the 90-120 day wait! :grumble

I was going to ask how this relates to the Air Conditioning subject, but then I realized that it fits right in.
Wait for it...

You're getting the gun in case you need to "ventilate" some rascal, right?

RIGHT!

Not really, it was just a money thing. But I figured out how Obama does things and just applied his tactics to my personal finances to make the buy! "rlol" "rlol"

Does that mean your children and your children's children will be paying this new gun off for years to come?
