I want to give this a try sometime as well. Any recommendations for club near Boerne?

I would suggest http://www.texastactical.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They run a couple of matches a month on the north side of San Antonio.

I shoot with TexasTactical guys in Austin and have shot a classifier at their San Antonio area range near Bulverde. Might be going to this coming Saturday's match in Bulverde (think I just made a deal with SWMBO for permission to go :hurry: ). If you want to go this Saturday, look me up and maybe we can squad up together and I'll help you out best I can.

There is another club that shoots in Boerne I believe. Forum member CWOOD shoots there occasionally, I think - might ask him about it. Some names/contact phones listed on IDPA web site http://www.idpa.com/clublist.asp?pick=TX" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also there are these guys down near Castroville http://www.rcsctx.org/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Tons of great advice! Handle your gun safely, take your time, shoot to your ability not what you see others do.
jason237m wrote: Your first mag can have 11, since that will give you 1 in the chamber and 10 in the mag before you start shooting.
Be careful with this - people get in the habit of tossing 11 in their first mag then shoot a stage where the gun starts unloaded and get a PE because your mags are only allowed to have 10 in them. Personally, I always load to 10 and keep 4 or 5 spare rounds in my pocket. When I'm on deck (or during load and make ready), I load the 11th into the magazine.

A-R, I just saw your post. Thank you for the offer. I'm tied up this weekend getting my son off to camp. Would like to take a raincheck if possible. Have heard good things about the Texas Tactical folks.
