Origins of The Wally Walk

Post by Carl in Katy »

I've been scanning through the forums trying to find the origin of the famous (or infamous) "Wally Walk". Does anyone know how this came about? I think it is a great idea, as it gives all CHLers a brotherhood and potential CHLers, such as myself, a way to be initiated into the fold. Maybe a fraternity isn't far behind, Phi Omega Wally.... or POW for short? Any more ideas?

I've only been here a year, but here's what I know about it.

Great question... Being new, I was wondering the exact same thing.

Who was the FIRST Texas CHLer to get his/her plastic and walk through Wal-Mart a packin'.

Someone needs to get that question added to the CHL exam.

It probably happened some time during in 1996 but nobody tweeted about it so we don't know.

I hear in places like Boston, San Francisco, and Austin you do a "Whole Foods Hop".
It's pretty much the same as a Wally Walk only you bring your own reusable hemp shopping bags, you replace steaks, ribs, and ground beef with soy, tempeh, and vegi-burgers. And lastly, you don't carry a loaded magazine, cause that kinda stuff is scary.

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

I think POW sounds a little to much like "prisoner of war" maybe Gamma Upsilon Nu, or Gamma Upsilon Nu Sigma!
