HB1498 Special Instructor License?
I was reading on the DPS website about a "special" CHL Instructor License, or just a CHL that indicates the holder is an instructor. I have not seen or ever heard about this but it is on the DPS website. Does anyone know what this is about?
Thanks,
Brian Mobley

Re: HB1498 Special Instructor License?
When I was at the instructors school last summer, they said we could get our CHL license re-issued with our Instructors stAtus by paying the $25 fee to update the license. HOWEVER, should we decide to not renew the instructors cert before the Chl expired, we'd have to pay the $25 again to have the license reissued without the instructors notice.

From what I remember when I was at the course this last week. You can get a modified license with the instructor status on you chl or if you are an instructor when you renew your chl it will be on there.

One of our associates recently renewed his CHL, and the new one has "INSTRUCTOR" across it.
I'm not sure if this buys you anything in a traffic stop, but I have been trying to talk him into speeding past a DPS trooper so we can find out. In the name of research, ya know.

Perhaps you should offer to pay the fine?Crossfire wrote:One of our associates recently renewed his CHL, and the new one has "INSTRUCTOR" across it.
