Air Force Raids Gun Shop in Las Vegas

Here we go. Are cops now unable too arrest thieves and recover property. This is very, very , very dangerous ground they tread on.

From what I've read, Air Force was just there to verify the property in question was in fact, theirs. Local cops carried out the raid. I'm fairly sure this will turn out to be an non event. :tiphat:

The BATFE, ICE and local law enforcement were also involved in this...from what I gather, no one was even arrested at the gun store. AND, the investigation re-focused on the base itself. They said it wasn't firearms or explosives involved...maybe night vision gear or chemical warfare protective suits...people get out of the military, and sometimes take issued gear and try to sell it instead of turning it in. The military usually keeps count of that stuff, so its a dumb move. Or, maybe someone with access in a supply unit, or custodial authority over some expensive gear, thought they could get away with it. They usually get caught, though. There are many layers of checks and cross-checks over expensive items of issued gear.

ICE? Well, its one thing for AF to be involved when its their property, but now I'm curious why ICE felt a need to get a piece of the action. Interesting. :???:

I guess they have that border secure and every illegal alien rounded up and deported then?

ICE also deals with customs issues so if this shop were involved with exporting proposed stolen merchandise, then they could become involved too.

Yeah, sounded funny to me, too...but that is what the article said.
