Am I correct in assuming that this should speed up the renewal process even more?

No, it's just instructor paperwork reporting classes and students.

OK, thanks!
The email of the CHL-100 (by the Instructor) would also be an excellent time saving idea. Now that fingerprints and photos are no longer required for renewals, I would hope that the majority of Instructors would be willing to email the 100's for renewals.

The CHL8 will make it a lot easier to report - - - Fax or E-mail!

Unfortunately, that's not our call to make. I personally think our CHL-8 listing students and pass/fail should be sufficient without the CHL-100.

A new CHL-100 is coming too. It's not posted on the website yet, but they gave it to us at class this week to start using. It requires recording the actual time spent teaching each of the four required subjects and the range portion, which is then totaled to record the total number of class hours.

The reason for this is that instructors spend different amounts of time in the classroom and on the range. So a student could take a 7-hour classroom portion from one instructor and a 1-hour range portion from another, not meeting the 10-hour minimum.
Now, I can see indicating the total time for those two sections, but I see no value in getting as granular as showing hours for each topic, as there are no minimums for each.
I would just have the hours for each topic included on my preprinted CHL-100s, but will I be inviolation if a class falls short of the scheduled time on one topic? :headscratch
