Air travel to a match

I have looked into shooting a few IDPA matches up in the Northeast where my wife's family lives. One of the things I have noticed is that the airlines have a weight restriction on ammunition. The weight restriction is low enough that 200 rounds may be pushing the limit. With the limit set where it is, it would be difficult to get any range time in before the match and may even make the ammo for a match a little tight.

How many of you have traveled with ammunition and how much were you able to bring? I would much prefer to shoot a match with my reloads over buying factory loads after I get there.
