Has anyone tried Galco's KINGTUK?
Has anyone tried Galco's KINGTUK?
I am looking for a good tuckable IWB for my 1911. I have a few Galco holsters and really like them. I noticed that they have a new IWB called the KINGTUK and was wondering if any of you have tried it or heard anything about it?

It is basically Galco's copy of a Crossbreed SuperTuck. A couple of other similar holsters are Comp-Tac's Minotaur and Kholster.
I have both the Crossbreed SuperTuck and a Comp-Tac's Minotaur, and am really sold on the all-day comfort and reliability of the mixed leather backing/kydex body represented by this segement. Either one carries my 1911 without issue (of course, a good quality gunbelt is also an important part of the setup).
If you are comfortable with the Galco brand, try one. If you want the original, try the Crossbreed SuperTuck.

I too have the MTAC for my XD45. It is a great holster and very comfortable. I am comfy with the Galco brand and that's why I was looking at the KINGTUK but was unsure on how tuckable it would really be. There seems to be only a small amount of room behind the clips to tuck into.

That is what I carry my SA 5" 1911 in. It tucks nicely.DONT TREAD ON ME wrote:I too have the MTAC for my XD45.

Of the two which one do you prefer?
Does either one tuck better?
Is either one more comfortable than the other?

Hubby uses an MTAC for a 9C almost daily. I have a Tucker Heritage for mine... but recently got a kholster for a kydex/leather combo. The Tucker is very comfy, but squeaks quite a bit - not usually a problem. We can tuck all of these nicely.

I like the look of the Tucker. I like the all leather for my SS 1911. It looks like it should tuck pretty well.
How is re-holstering?
Can it be done one handed?
Do you think the squeaks are because it is not broken in all the way?

Here are my thoughts on Crossbreed SuperTuck vs Comp-Tac MTAC Poll.
One other difference is the CBST is a 6 week lead time, the CT MTAC is 2 business days.
