Easy. Gun was never inspected at the airports.
In Honolulu, I had to go to the firearms registration office and register my gun since i was going to be there more than 3 days. This involved having my ink prints rolled and a bg check. Their gun laws are idiotic but the HPD guys were great. They took us into the museum they have in the station which had really cool stuff.
I carried almost everywhere but scuba diving and on the beach. Glad to have it too.
