Advise on CHL class

Post by ntexaschl »

Hello Forum,

Renewal time is here. I haven't been to the DFW area in a while. Thought I might like to attend the Sep. 10-11 Irving Gun Show while I'm there. A Sunday class would be ideal for me, and, I'd prefer an indoor range. The Texas Handgun Academy offers classes seven days a week. Any reviews about this place? Any recommendations for a different class/location?

Thanks,

Unless something has changed, the place you mention is as good as any and better than most at least from a one stop shop point of view.

If you're convenient to north Fort Worth, IH-35 and Golden Triangle, look up Shoot Smart. Their initial CHL is $100, not sure about the renewal. Refrigerated air in the classroom (you'll be glad of that on the day it's 114F outside!) and you shoot before the general public gets in, so the range is cool, as well.

We have CHL instructors as contributing members here in the Forum. Most don't advertise their services. One such outfit is crossfire. It is a two person, he and she team.

Class and range is in N FtWorth/Alliance airport area. That'd seem to be handy for you. Send them a PM, get a 'phone #, and have a chat.

One of the team is licensed to teach the Utah CHL Class also. I have the Utah and Texas CHL plastic photo ID. Got 'em both on the same class.

Admittedly, I can occasionally get reduntant. Thats not a bad thing.

Thanks for the responses, I appreciate them. As salty mentioned, the Forum has CHL instructors. I have elected to choose one of them.

Thanks again
