Hello,
I recently sent in my application for my CHL. My first CHL expired and I never renewed it so I had to start over using the online application process.
Does anyone have a screen shot of the section where you enter any arrests you have had in the past? I don't remember what it looks like. I did enter an arrest that happened 14 years ago right after college for a bad check from a closed bank account. I did not remember the exact date and I provided as much information as I could.
The other day I get a letter from DPS stating that I did not disclose an arrest for a bad check in 2008. Well, I was never arrested in 2008. When I called the person at DPS who sent me the letter, she informed me that I entered the date of August 1, 2008. She also stated that I entered the county as "Plano". I refuse to believe that I entered this information as all of it is wrong...plus why would I enter information if it is not true!! There is not Plano county. Plano, TX is a city located in COLLIN county. The letter I received stated the city was Plano and the county was DALLAS. Well, that combination does not exist. I also asked the lady if I needed to get my criminal history from COLLIN or DALLAS county and she would not answer or give me a definitive answer.
When I asked if I could see my application, she said with a determined and very irritated voice..."NO!".
I want to see if anyone has a screen shot of that section to see if the date and county/city entries are from pull down menus or need to be manually entered. I just do not believe I would enter information that I did not know or that was obviously incorrect. She kept telling me "YOU entered this..."..."YOU did this..."...etc.
I did send in the requested misdemeanor and felony criminal history from COLLIN county which were clean back to the 1960's.
Thank you,
"Under Review"
JP

Re: Online Application Screen Shots
Sorry Wondermutt, but I doubt if many of us here would make screenshots of the application. A instructor might do it now that they have no paper applications anymore, but until recently, I would have used a paper application to show a class how (I am not an instructor in this, just basing it on other training I have done).

Re: Online Application Screen Shots
Instructors (at least instructors with a CHL) cannot get into the system, since they already have a CHL and are not eligible to apply. You enter your DL number, SSN, Date of birth, and DL Audit number on the first screen. An instructor would never get past this point.srothstein wrote:Sorry Wondermutt, but I doubt if many of us here would make screenshots of the application. I wouldn't mind having some screen shots for my classes, but I don's see how it can be done without usurping some student's session, which I'm not comfortable with.

That's what I was afraid of...thanks for your replies.
Lovely how we are not "allowed" access to view our submitted application. I simply do not believe the lady who told me I entered that information.
Hope my documents showing clean records clears this up.

Re: Online Application Screen Shots
Does the online application provide a summary screen at the end, showing everything you entered? If it does, everyone should keep a copy of that screen; if it doesn't, everyone should print each screen as they submit it.

I was wondering about the same thing. Almost mentioned it, but you beat me to it!MasterOfNone wrote:Does the online application provide a summary screen at the end, showing everything you entered?
